Medical Records Technician/Coder - 10576zzz0313 Reports to the Health Information Director The Medical Coding Specialist is a record analyst who converts and records physician/clinician diagnostic information into an alphanumeric coded format for billing and data storage purposes.
Review charts to ensure that all charges are correct before billed.
Initials chart analysis and route to the clinician for completion and signature.
Resource for other personnel or departments regarding assignments of codes and charges.

RHIT or RHIA certification is required.
Knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, procedural/surgical terminology, diagnostic testing and imaging terminology and disease processes.
General knowledge of billing.
Ability to analyze and summarize clinical data and information.
Ability to work independently and under pressure with time constraints.
Requires excellent communication skills.
