Processes films, files and logs completed ultrasound exams.
Processes patient paperwork (i.

Encounter forms, referrals, and pre-certifications.
) Monitors supplies and equipment taking the necessary steps to assure adequate inventory and optimal equipment function.
Prepares the patient for the ultrasound exam with proper instruction.
Ability to access the patients internal body habitues and communicate that with the radiologist when necessary.
Initiates and performs other clinic duties, assisting in both clerical and clinical areas.
Qualifications:

Experience Preferred:
0-1 year experience.
One or more years in an ambulatory health care setting with clinical and clerical experience.
Education/Licensure Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within 2 years of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of:
body habitus, mechanics and patient movement.
cross sectional anatomy transducer care insurance protocols ICD-9 and CPT coding skills risk management, quality improvement and infection control medical equipment and instruments organizational policies, regulations, and procedures Skills as demonstrated through:
Ultrasound and ancillary health care services Patient anatomy, body habitus and positioning Continuous time, resource and task management Establishing and maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public Continuous accurate verbal and written communication Ability to:
Act as the communication center between the radiologist, primary physician and the patient.
